Spring Ahead for Daylight-Saving Time?
I’d Rather Sleep
On Saturday night, I set my clocks forward an hour for daylight-saving time. I have to say, that first Sunday in April is one of my least favorite days of the year. Sure, in the long run we get more daylight out of the deal. But I’m still not happy, because losing that hour of sleep stinks.
You see, I am not a morning person. To be more accurate, I hate getting up. I tend to run late in the mornings, because rising and shining just never has been -- or will be -- part of my morning routine. And you can ask my coworkers -- I’m more prone to stupid work mistakes before noon.
I’m not alone in the world of work. Many fellow night owls struggle to get to work on time and only come alive in the afternoon and evening. Alas, most jobs don’t accommodate these people’s body clocks. But according to this Monster article, there are ways to cope.
I’m not the only one who doesn’t like daylight-saving time -- check out this site. And get Norma’s more positive take on the whole phenomenon here.
