Common-Sense Etiquette at Work
Over the holidays, a few girlfriends and I were recapping some of the funniest things that have happened to us at work. I shared an incident that happened to me a few years ago.
I was working through lunch trying to get a few things done when a new employee knocked on my cube to ask me a question. As I started to answer her, I realized she was eating my potato chips. And no, I hadn’t offered. I was so surprised anyone would have the nerve to start eating someone else’s food that I didn’t know what to say.
After listening to some of the other stories, it got me thinking: Do people realize you have to treat coworkers differently than friends and relatives? Sure, this is common sense, but it’s easy to see how the lines can get blurry.
Not sure if your work etiquette is up to par? Take a look at these helpful tips.

Can someone tell me when-as If!, it is okay to wear thong-obvious undies, lacerating pants, unsupporting bras, three inch sling backs, see-thru clothing, or club wear to work???? Is it me, or has the world gone mad?

I have one much the same. One of my co-workers sat beside me at lunch, of which mine was layed out in front of me, in the midst of being eaten. There was only one box of raisins on the table, and they were right next to me. Without skipping a beat, he picked them up and started eating them. I didn't know what to say at first, but it didn't even register that they could have been someone else's - until I glared at him incredulously. He finally realized that they could have been someone else's, and sheepishly apologized, stating that he "thought they were for everyone". I chuckled, but I still found it a little weird, this level of "un-thought". And I was looking forward to those raisins!

I think I have a GREAT story to coincide with these ones. I just started at a new job, a corporate office, as an administrative assistant. I had a bunch of high level executives flying in for this important meeting in the board room and I ordered them catered lunches. Some of my coworkers asked "Whats for lunch?" seeing as how they usually have whatever is leftover and I told them it had been delivered to the board room. About 5 of them walked in the meeting room (plates in hand) and served themselves up some lunch! I was so embarrassed for them and for our company.

We had a pot luck luncheon today at work for the February B-day people. Everyone in my department brought in food. Around 10:30am people from other departments across the hall were coming in to ours grabbing plates and helping them selves to the food we brought in. Most of us hadnt even eaten yet and some of the food needed to still be warmed up. There were a lot of upset people in my department, what gives these "outsiders" the right to come in and help themselves to our lunch??? And thats not the half of it...through-out the lunch hour, people were walking by just grabbing whatever they could get their hands on without even asking and eating it while leaving our suite! We were uphauled! I mean we realize this happens once in a while but This was insane!

Well, how is this, your reply.
What do you do when a co-worker is passing gas...let me rephrase, ripping one off in a small office where you have to sit with them?

Maria,,,,I feel for you,,,,I would get up and quietly leave the room until the air clears. I have one for you.....What do you do when someone in the room blows their nose while your eating? You can't leave soon enough,,,,damage is already done!!!!!! This happens on a daily basis and the person doing it is a female and fairly intelligent too.

I was invited to a party for students from a neighbouring country. My fellow friends came uninvited. They started hoarding drinks for future consumption. They openly told me that it was none of my business as I neither bought the drinks nor invited them.
