Here’s to Naomi Campbell’s Former Assistants
I try not to get caught up in the Hollywood thing, but every once in a while there’s a story that I just can’t evade. Last month, ex-supermodel Naomi Campbell dispelled the myth that beauty and grace go hand in hand by allegedly physically beating her assistant-- again. This time, she used a Blackberry. In another chronicled episode, Naomi's assistant quit after she reported to have been head-butt, lip-bitten and yanked to the floor by the hair in a frantic attack by the former fashion icon. The reason? Apparently, the assistant booked the “wrong” hairdresser for the star.
While Naomi’s behavior being anything but model is enough fodder to fiddle with, I’d like to take a moment to focus on the brave assistants who stood up for themselves despite the seasoned public-relations mouthpieces that Naomi undoubtedly had working for her. Being an assistant is not an easy job, especially nowadays, when a precise blend of personal and technical skills is becoming increasingly essential in keeping any office together.
Whether working as customer-service agents, office managers or personal shoppers, admin and support professionals have developed their roles into a career that is celebrated annually during Administrative Professionals Day, which is today.
To learn more about this year’s Admin Day theme, becoming a support professional or managing your career as an admin, check out this Monster Featured Report, "Your Admin/Support Career: Celebrating Administrative Professionals Week 2005.” Just don’t work for Naomi.
And if you haven’t gotten the admin in your office anything, you better hurry; here are a few ideas.

Did the assistant file criminal charges against the ex-supermodel? The assistant in no way deserved the attack that came from this woman.

Naomi Campbell needs hormones or medication and a serious medical examination -- her behavior is unacceptable. Maybe she needs a couple years in the COOLER -- ya know, to think.....:( Naomi is an abusive person -- she must've had quite a teacher. Maybe....ah never mind :)

The bitch should go to jail. Some of those big tough ladies in there will take her down a few pegs and show her just how tough she isn't. She'll be someone's bitch inside of one day.
Super models! What the hell's so 'super' about them anyway? Can they fly? Do they have x ray vision? Slink down a runway in expensive clothing while looking bored or grouchy. Big skill! They should all have to work like we do for one week. It would be a mind numbingly humbling experience.

Too bad Employees can't drug screen their bosses. I can't imagine any job being worth the risk of bodily harm from some egotistical maniac. Send a message and press charges.

Maybe the assistant who got hit with the blackberry can get a fabulous T-Mobile contract out of all this. Besides meeting Catherine Zeta-Jones would be wonderful! Maybe she needs a personal assistant............

I still think Naomi is one of the most beautiful models. I am tired of seeing the negative things that happens to her. I need some of her positive contributions to be on Headline News also. she is human just stressed out in such a demanding industry.

Naomi may have gotten frustrated, but there is no justification for what she did to her assistant. That sounds like two adolescent girls fighting. Naomi should have to act professional just like any other employer. I'm sure many employers would like to do the same thing to their assistants, but self-control and willpower should be obtainable by her age and years in the industry.

I was once grabbed by an employer and I felt so abused. I couldn't say anything because I needed the job at the time. I did notice the behavior only allowed HER to take more liberties with me and I began to hate my job. It is a shame to invest so much time into a position only for it to be shot down by a hater. I've listed my skills on my resume, but after a year of being unemployed, I believe my experience have no remedy. Count me in for the assistant support group.

OMG I as a black woman find her actions and behavior horrible. Listen sista girl (hope she reads blogs out there) I don’t know how on earth NO ONE has kicked the living shit outta her ass THEN called the po-po on her (it isnt against the law to whoop ass in defense of someone attacking them)
Can some one please explain to MOI how this female (term loosely being used lol) keeps meeting poor lil ingenue after aspiring model after star struck fan that desire to work with her, just to be accused of stealing, accused of anything her twisted warped sense of reality can handle. I have never reponded to a blog b4 in my life..but after this last story I have a message to wake up sista girl…most women don’t just expect their respect, we demand it..offer my ass a job and I wish in the hell you would attempt to throw any shit at me…the next episode she would remember is waking up in the hospital with a handcuff on her wrist asking wth happened. BITCH

Naomi Campbell is a bonafide bitch and needs to be beat down. She needs to get a sister as an assistant and try to pull that shit off. I mean, who does she think she is? As a model, she doesn't have a lot of runway years left, she better start thinking of another career...
