Top 10 List of Top 10’s
The new year is almost here. We haven’t yet branded this decade, and we’ve already lived through half of it. What would we call it anyway? The Zips? The Zeroes? The Oughts? Sigh. It’s a good time to reflect in the hope of moving forward. In that vein, I’ve compiled my top-10 list of work-related top-10 lists. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, plan your future and enjoy:
1. Think your work misstep was bad? Try doing it in the public eye. Learn from the top 10 worst career mistakes of 2004.
2. Recruiters nationwide told us their top 10 resume peeves.
3. Know these top 10 questions you are likely to be asked in an interview so you can turn that curveball into a cream puff.
4. Prepare for your next salary negotiation with these top 10 tips.
5. College grads and newbies to the workforce: Be sure to avoid making one of these top 10 job search mistakes.
6. Be wary of work-from-home scams; check out this top 10 list of the most common ones. Be sure to also read up on how to avoid these scams.
7. Administrative professionals: Check out your peers' top 10 list of favorite books, journals and references.
8. Impress your boss and keep up with everything from the weather to technology by bookmarking these 10 sites.
9. Can’t stand pantyhose? Have an A-type personality? Find out the top ten jobs for you based on your idiosyncratic self.
10. Lastly, if you ever need a good excuse (or 10), check out these reasons for going to work naked. OK, I’m kidding. We don’t condone going to work naked.
