Passing the Torch
Change is good. But it can be bittersweet. This is my last blog entry. I have been experiencing a lot of good-byes lately and this is another tough step I must make in that process.
I've decided to take a job offer at another company -- more responsibility, more money and in a better location (back in the cit-ay!) I will miss a lot of people here -- this has been a great job for me and I've learned a lot.
As much as I loved this blog, sometimes it was tough to write -- I wanted to be more personal but felt constrained by the fact that I am representing Monster. And some days I didn't want to write about anything that was remotely connected to work -- I wanted to write about how I went on a family vacation, or how I had a great time driving around Boston with my boyfriend last night, or I saw a great movie, or I had a bad weekend or read a news article I wanted to talk about. If it had nothing to do with work or with Monster, I had to put it aside.
Before I came to work here, I went through a period of unemployment (well, technically I had freelance jobs, but they didn't pay all the bills so let's call it "underemployment"). So I came in here feeling pretty damn lucky. I know a lot of people out there are still unemployed or in jobs they aren't happy in but are paying the bills. Trust me, I have been there and it will get better. I wish all of you the best of luck. And now I put you into the capable hands of my coworkers.

Rebecca - good luck. I've enjoyed your candid views of the workplace. You brought a lot of personality to these pages.
